Pierre, a rural veterinarian by profession, and Mathys, his grandson with a business degree and committed to the climate emergency, had the idea of creating together a platform that listens to animals and their owners. With Pierre, we will discover how to take care of your animal in a 100% eco-friendly and holistic way.
Can you introduce us to HoloVéto?
A traveling rural veterinarian for 40 years, I have had the opportunity, during my long career, to treat numerous animal pathologies and to meet animal owners who are often idle.
Faced with their recurring problems, I wanted, thanks to my grandson's IT expertise, to create an online platform that could help them provide comfort and well-being to their animals. The specificity of our HoloVéto site is to offer holistic products hand-selected both for their therapeutic effectiveness and for their respect for the planet.
Indeed, one of our objectives is to guarantee the traceability of the veterinary products that we sell. For this, these products are the result of sustainable, organic and environmentally friendly agriculture. On the other hand, we favor short circuits and therefore local production, with a selection of French or German origin. Finally, to go to the end of our value chain, our packaging is recycled and recyclable, reduced to the strict minimum.
Why did you choose to offer holistic care for animals?
We wanted to stand out by offering a real qualitative alternative to conventional treatments, when this is obviously possible. During my long career, I have observed many positive effects of holistic treatments on chronic pathologies such as anxiety, arthritis, allergies and problems linked to animal old age. These diseases often require long-term management and care to maintain the animal's quality of life.
Thus, HoloVéto offers homeopathic products, herbal medicine, natural food, and a selection of hemp products. It is important to clarify that we do not sell products requiring a prescription.
Holistic veterinary products represent a complementary treatment and help increase the comfort and well-being of the animal in a natural way. They can be used on pets, but not only. My status as a veterinarian allows me to sell veterinary distribution products online like our CBD products.
HoloVéto is not just a simple online store, do you also listen to pet owners looking for advice?
Quite. The best part of our platform is that we can give veterinary advice and guide pet owners towards holistic solutions based on the animal's needs.
The therapeutic aspect is only considered in a dynamic of support. Because the animal's issues must be integrated into the environment in which it lives, we are available by email or telephone to discuss with animal owners. We are there to guide them, reassure them and monitor the animal's therapeutic progress.
What products do you recommend using?
An effective alternative to pesticides, I recommend the use of anti-tick and anti-flea tags. This is a protection based on a bioenergetic imprint composed of several successive layers of information. This results in a vibrational field around the animal which jams the sensors of external parasites and repels them. This medal is not made to treat the already infested animal, but to prevent a possible infection. These medals exist for cats, dogs and horses.
In the event that the animal is infested by ticks or fleas, we recommend treating the animal with essential oils based on Pelargonium (geranium), Salvia (sage) and Eucalyptus such as Melaflon.
On the other hand, to effectively combat animal anxiety and to strengthen well-being in cases of stress, I recommend the use of hemp seed oil enriched with CBG. Hemp oil allows the animal to maintain normal behavior in the face of stress and helps it manage its anxiety. A true eco-friendly alternative to psychotropic drugs, it is however important to contact a veterinarian before the very first use for optimal use. Used correctly, organic hemp oil has remarkable effects on animal anxiety. Bach Flowers also have soothing properties helping animals to cope with episodes of stress. Any advice for pet owners?
With animals, it is essential to use common sense! The right food is simply the food that suits the animal, which allows it to keep its weight in good shape and to be full of life. No more no less.
Another important point is not to show anthropomorphism towards animals, especially pets. An animal was made to be happy. It doesn't matter if a dog has dirty paws or ears. It's normal ! Using excessive chemicals on pets, to clean them for example, will have the opposite effect by sensitizing them and potentially making them sick. An animal is not a human being.
Finally, the best advice is to listen to your animal in order to understand the reason for its possible behavioral changes. Animals are our friends, we must take care of them.
